I totally agree with Joseph k. He hits the nail on the head. If you haven't read his review take a look at it. The service was professional courteous and prompt. I love this radio. The learning curve is not that steep and it just works and works and works. I would suggest reading the manual before trying to operate the radio and pay particular attention to the section that describes the menu items. That will come in handy later on. For instance, go to menu items 45, 46 and 47 . You can change the color of the display. I set mine to Red 32 , green 32 and blue 32. It gives a nice friendly blue display which looks somewhat like an ICOM. Just personal preference. Finally, spring for a good antenna and coax it will make a world of difference. I suggests one of the antennas they show with this product. They are all good picks and are very reasonably priced. They are cheaper than HRO and Amazon. No they didn't hire me to write this.
