Bob Heil along with everyone at Heil Sound LTD is extremely proud of their professional relationship with some of the top names in show business. One microphone that exemplifies the synergistic bond between performance professionals and
microphone manufacturer is the Heil PR 31 BW.

The "BW" stands for Bob Workman, the FOH engineer for the Charlie Daniels Band. Charlie Daniels had become acquainted with Heil microphones when the band .38 Special had loaned him one to try when they were on tour together. Charlie was
impressed and asked Bob Workman to contact Heil. Soon thereafter, a relationship was born that endures to this day.

Bob Workman is now one of many sound professionals who use Heil microphones exclusively to set up live shows, as well as for recording. Bob Workman (with his many years in the industry), is highly qualified in his position.

The PR 30 is an excellent vocal mic as well as a great drum mic. However, when Bob Workman was miking drums, he found the PR 30 to be a bit too big (long), to fit into the nooks and crannies in and around drums. This frustrated him, because
his ears told him it was the best mic for the job of miking toms, kicks, snares and cymbals, but he wished it was about half as tall with the same characteristics as the PR 30.

Workman's call to the father of modern live sound, Bob Heil, did not fall on deaf ears. In fact, an idea that some companies might have pacified Mr. Workman with a "we'll get back to you" response got Bob Heil in gear. In no time at all, a
smaller version of the PR 30 (designated the PR 31 BW in honor Bob Workman), came to life.

At a mere 4" tall, the PR 31 BW has answered the call for Bob Workman and his contemporaries in professional sound reinforcement who absolutely will not substitute microphone inferiority for any reason. The PR 31 BW has the same -40 dB of
side and rear noise rejection as the PR 30, and like the PR 30, the best SPL tolerance available. The same shock mounting and screen mesh and foam popping filter as the PR 30 compliment the PR 31 BW and give it versatility no other mic can
offer.
